About PerAgri

Agriculture is undergoing a profound digital transformation driven by advances in pervasive sensing, artificial intelligence, edge computing, robotics, wireless communications, and cyber-physical systems. Modern farms increasingly deploy heterogeneous sensing infrastructures consisting of IoT devices, UAVs, satellites, autonomous ground vehicles, wearable devices, weather stations, and smart agricultural machinery. However, transforming these fragmented technologies into intelligent, scalable, and resilient agricultural ecosystems remains a significant research challenge.

PerAgri aims to provide a premier forum for researchers and practitioners working at the intersection of pervasive computing and precision agriculture. The workshop particularly encourages research that combines sensing, communication, computing, and intelligence into end-to-end pervasive agricultural systems rather than isolated technology components.

Call for Papers

The papers of this workshop should tackle high-impact, real-world problems at the intersection of pervasive computing and precision agriculture that remain inadequately addressed by existing solutions. The main outcome of the workshop is to bring together sensing, computing, and agricultural domain expertise to move the needle on challenges that most affect farmers, industry stakeholders, and the environment. All areas of pervasive sensing, edge and distributed intelligence, robotics, and agricultural cyber-physical systems are considered.

We also welcome submissions that go beyond a single topic above, combining sensing, computing, and agronomic insight into end-to-end solutions. With this workshop, our aim is to catalyze practical, deployable research that bridges the gap between pervasive computing innovation and the pressing operational realities of modern agriculture.

Target Community

PerAgri aims to attract a highly interdisciplinary audience spanning both pervasive computing and agricultural technology communities. The primary target participants include:
  • Pervasive Computing Researchers: Researchers working on IoT and sensor systems, edge computing, distributed AI, cyber-physical systems, and smart environments.
  • Agricultural Technology Researchers: Researchers focusing on precision agriculture, agricultural robotics, remote sensing, and digital agriculture.
  • Industry and Government Stakeholders: Agri-tech startups, precision farming solution providers, equipment manufacturers, and policymakers.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions should offer original contributions within the scope of the workshop, spanning pervasive sensing, edge and distributed intelligence, and cyber-physical systems for precision agriculture. Manuscripts must be submitted in PDF format and are limited to 6 pages, with one additional page permitted for a maximum of 7 pages total (including references). Author names and affiliations should be included and are not required to be blinded. All submissions must be formatted in double-column IEEE style with 10pt fonts on US letter paper, with all fonts fully embedded. Papers must be submitted through HotCRP. The IEEE LaTeX and Microsoft Word templates, along with further formatting details, are available on the IEEE Computer Society website .

PerAgri will be held alongside IEEE PerCom 2027, and all accepted papers will appear in the PerCom workshops proceedings, indexed in the IEEE Xplore digital library. Each accepted paper requires at least one author to hold a full PerCom 2027 registration and to present the work in person at the workshop; workshop-only registration will not be offered. Papers lacking a valid full registration, or that are not presented in person, will be withdrawn from the proceedings.

Registration

Each accepted workshop paper requires a full PerCom registration (no workshop-only registration is available). Otherwise, the paper will be withdrawn from publication. The authors of all accepted papers must guarantee that their paper will be presented at the workshop. Papers not presented at the workshop will be considered a "no-show" and will not be included in the proceedings.
